MELD is a token-based, trustless lending technology built on the Cardano Blockchain with the use of smart contracts. It’s a simple, secure, and open platform for exchanging fiat and cryptocurrency loans and borrowings.
Borrowers who collateralize MELD loans with cryptocurrencies receive access to lender-provided fiat funds. Secured investments provide a high rate of return for the lender, while allowing the borrower to hold onto and profit from their cryptocurrency holdings at a compound annual growth rate of 32% (BTC IS 196%). Collateral held in community-managed Vaults (LPs) generates yield, of which MELD stakers receive 40% and other departments including products, treasury, development, and operations receive 60%.
